Redhead Equipment’s Heavy Hitter Charity Classic Swings Big in Its Second Year

Regina, SK Despite a rain that wouldn’t go away, Redhead Equipment’s Second Annual Heavy Hitter Charity Classic was nothing short of a hole in one!

In 2023, Redhead Equipment celebrated their 75th Anniversary as a company and to commemorate such a milestone they held their first annual Heavy Hitter Charity Classic at Wascana Country Club. The tournament was a way to express an ‘attitude of gratitude’ and funds raised went to assisting Ronald McDonald House Charities Saskatchewan (RMHC-SK).

With the success of the first tournament, Redhead Equipment decided to hold it again for second year on Monday, June 10. Although the weather was less than ideal and it kept everyone off the course, it did not dampen the generosity of those attending. Through sponsorship, registration, and fundraising throughout the day, the event raised $82,000. An attendee at the tournament was inspired by the fundraising efforts and chose to donate an additional $5,000 which brought the tournament’s total to $87,000. Through the generosity of the Redhead and Wallace families, Redhead Equipment matched the amount raised and a total of $174,000 was donated to RMHC-SK. This total surpasses last year’s total of $170,000 and in just two years, this event has raised an impressive $344,000 for a great cause.

“RMHC-SK is so very grateful for the continued support from Redhead Equipment. The funds received will support the building of a new House in Regina and Prince Albert. Additional funds will support the current operations of the House located in Saskatoon,” says Karen Linsley, Director of Development and Communications at RMHC-SK. “RMHC-SK cannot do what we do without amazing community partners such as Redhead Equipment. Thank you for this generous gift.”

“Redhead Equipment is grateful to our manufacturers, suppliers, vendors, customers, staff and friends who all rallied to make our tournament a success,” says Craig Slobodian, Chief Operating Officer at Redhead Equipment. He adds, “We can’t wait to see what next year’s event has in store, it will be bigger and better, and hopefully less wet.”

Special thanks is due to the tournament’s presenting sponsor CASE Construction Equipment and Safety & Innovation Sponsor Volvo Construction Equipment for both supporting in major ways since the first event.
